ALL INDIA SURVEY OF HIGHER EDUCATION was started in India in 2010-11. A task force was formed constitution representatives from HRD ministry, University Grants Commission, All India Council of Technical Education, Medical Council of India National University of Education Planning and Administration, Distance Education Council of India, and representatives of many universities.
The survey covers all the Institutions in the country engaged in the imparting of higher education. Data is being collected on several parameters such as teachers, student enrollment, programmes, examination results, education finance, infrastructure.
