About Library

Welcome to the KWT’s Divekar College of Commerce Library. This page will outline the detailed account of the Library from all its activities and services, the library users are required to have first-hand information about the library in order to utilize it to the maximum extent in quenching their thirst for information requirements.

Information in the Library is available in different sections and formats. For example, Books, Journals, Encyclopedia, Dictionaries, Yearbook, Atlas, Reference Books, & CD/DVD materials are the sources to be consulted. Like-wise a researcher would like to know the current developments in his field of study to NLIST E-journals available in the Library.

The entrance of the College Library

Considering the huge quantum of information and the variety of the user requirements, the library has undertaken automation activities in a phased manner. Already we have up-to-date data entries of the books collection which is search and accessible on the OPAC.

MONDAY-FRIDAY 8-00 AM TO 5-30 PM
SATURDAY-8-00AM TO 4.30 PM
The Library is Kept Open throughout the Year, except on government holidays.

Acquisition Section

A library acquisition section is responsible for the selection and purchase of books, journals, magazines, newspapers and other reading materials. The college may select vendors, arrange for standing orders, and select individual titles or resources.

Book Purchase

The college library has purchased books under UGC, College, M.Com & BCA heads from different vendors & publishers for the last years. The list of number books and its amount are mentioned below;

Journals Subscriptions

College library has been subscribing journals from the different agencies which are National level, State level and regional level, some of the journals does not have ISSN number.

Magazines Purchase

The college library is subscribing to the magazines of popular publications periodically through the local vendors.

Technical Section

Library undertakes technical and maintenance activities of library collections. The services are shown in the following statements:

All the B.Com, UGC and M.Com books are entered in the library management software. A data work is a process of library automation which is book entry, Periodicals entry, Journals, Magazines, & News paper. The database of the members of staff, both teaching & non-teaching, is also made.

The information related to all the users of the college, B.Com, M.Com, BCA and PUC Teaching Staff and non-teaching staff, are entered in the library management software.

  • College, UGC books are partially bar-coded. M.Com, BCA and PUC books are fully bar-coded.
  • Barrowers Cards of B.Com-I, M.Com-I BCA-I and PUC-I year users are bar-coded.
  • College library has OPAC service system for accessing books, journals, magazines, newspapers in the collection.
  • To provide easy access to the books.
  • To develop searching skills.
  • College library has 3 CCTV surveillance in reading hall, M.com section and circulation section.
  • CCTV helps to ensure the security of library collections.
  • This facility for minimum users of the library for better use of information at library.
  • College library has Wi-Fi network facility for limited students and staff. We have a plan of offering this facility to the entire college campus.

Technical services also include: maintenance of online catalogues, creation and maintenance catalogues, labeling, covering, security processing, and distribution of materials, technology resources such as servers, OPACs, circulation, scanners, printers and other devices.

Circulation Section

Book Transaction
College library provided total of 10214 books issued to home for the students and staff during 2018-19 for students 9803 books issued and returned and for the staff 411 books issued and returned as well.

Stock Verification

Stock verification is one of the components of library management. It is necessary to undertake stock verification every year to trace the books lost, damaged, and misplaced. It is necessary to undertake periodical inventory and accounting of the library collection.

Special Services

Best User of the Library:
The library motivates to students to make efficient use of the library and its services. The library is giving “Best Library User” award to the best user of library services. This award is decided on the bases of use of library resources like books, journals, Magazines, Reading aptitudes, Information queries, Internet, E-journals and other library related utilization.

Low Income Textbook Facility:
Library is providing free text books facility for low income & poor students.

Bibliographical Information Services:
Bibliographical Information Services in selected database in Social Science is available from INFLIBNET Ahmadabad.

Email and Internet Services:
Library is providing Internet based information services since 2009 apart from the regular E-Mail based correspondence to various foreign as well as Indian Universities, Organizations, Institutions and Companies.

Current Awareness Services:
To Provide Current Awareness services to the teachers and researches University Library has launched web based E-Mail forum. This is supplying latest information over the address
www.dcclibrarykwr@gmail.com.

Library Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC):
Library OPAC is readily available on Library Computers. Users can search his/her required document through Author, Title, Subject and Publisher keywords. This is also available on Campus Network.

E-Journals:
The college library have subscribing N-LIST E-journals Database form UGC INFONET it is easy to access through User ID, and more than 4132 + full text electronic journals and bibliographic Databases’ in various subjects through UGC-N-LIST database. These Electronic Journals are very useful to faculty and students.
